A delegation of conservative English-language bloggers, including Judge Andrew Napolitano, military expert Larry Johnson, and Mario Nawfal, host of “69 Minutes” on the X Network, visited the St. Basil the Great Gymnasium just outside of Moscow. In Russia the term “gymnasium” refers to elite, mostly private, schools.
After the tour, Prof. Alexander Dugin and Russian businessman and media mogul Konstantin Malofeev were interviewed by the foreign delegation.
Naturally, many questions were asked about the Ukrainian conflict. This battle, that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called a “proxy war” between the United States and Russia, has put the entire world on the edge of its seat due to the threat of nuclear escalation, so naturally this was topic number one.
Mr. Malofeev explained that, the West’s involvement in the war is direct interference in Russian internal affairs. The lands of Malorossiya (Little Russia: the vast areas near Kiev, as a sub region of Russia) and Novorossiya (New Russia: the lands around the Black Sea including the Donbass and Crimea) are an integral part of the Russian world. Ukraine itself is a product of the bloody and tragic civil war of the early 20th century. Malofeev confirmed that neither Western “peacekeepers” nor the “freezing” of the war will bring a solution to the crisis. And this too needs to be heard by the multimillion wide English-speaking audience.
This prominent Russian businessman is referring to plans by Western politicians to try to freeze the war in a similar way to how North and South Korea were divided. The Russian side sees this as an attempt to rearm Ukraine during the pause to continue the war at some point in the future. Numerous Ukrainian politicians have publicly said that they want to use a ceasefire to rearm, thus confirming the concerns of Moscow on this issue.
The bloggers also interviewed Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, as well as visited the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.
Russian society really wants the American public to acknowledge the feat of the Russian soldier that liberated Europe from the worst historical evil and that it was the Americans who helped them defeat Hitler, not the other way around. That is to say, to understand that the big burden of victory was on the back of the USSR and that Russia and America working together is a much better option than being enemies, especially when there are no real core ideological differences between these two nations anymore.
The delegation also visited the Historical Museum on Red Square’s special exhibit in honour of the fight against Napoleon’s forces in 1812. This conflict is referred to by Russians as “The Patriotic War” and the museum is organized to show how, although on the surface the Russian and French Empires looked similar, they had very different attitudes towards all manner of things especially about war. The exhibit featured countless artifacts from that time including a mobile kitchen, full uniforms, and even one of Napoleon’s sabres.
Today the Russians see themselves as fighting Nazism all over again but in Ukraine, and many in Russia would like to have Trump’s MAGA America come fight Fascism with them and be on the right side of history together.
