We, the activists from the International Association of Friends of Crimea – Friends of Russia, which brings together over 50 national clubs across various countries, are reaching out to public organizations and influential figures in Europe and around the globe. Our message comes as we approach a significant milestone: the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazism. If you agree with the following message please share this link.
Amid the current revision of historical narratives surrounding World War II, tolerance toward manifestations of Nazism and xenophobia—particularly in Ukraine and several European nations—has enabled the rise of reactionary, ultranationalist, militarist, and neo-fascist forces. To this day, EU leaders have failed to provide an international legal assessment of one of the most barbaric crimes committed by Ukrainian neo-Nazis and radicals in Odessa on May 2, 2014, which claimed the lives of over 50 civilians burned alive in the Trade Unions House.
Instead of honoring the millions of victims of World War II ahead of the 80th anniversary of its conclusion, Europe’s political elite is pursuing a dangerous policy of provoking conflicts and preparing for large-scale war on the continent. This, in turn, heightens the risk of humanity sliding into a Third World War, threatening global self-destruction.
European leaders forget that Europe’s current freedom and development would be impossible without the immense sacrifices and decisive contribution of Russia and other peoples of the former USSR to victory in World War II. Eternal glory belongs to the heroes of this struggle: soldiers and officers of the Red Army, fighters of the anti-Hitler coalition, members of China’s People’s Liberation Army, French, Greek, and Italian Resistance fighters, German anti-fascist underground activists, Yugoslav and Korean partisans, Polish and Czechoslovak patriots, and countless others forever etched in our memory.
During World War II, a grand anti-fascist alliance was forged, transcending social, ideological, political, and religious differences—a necessity dictated by the era.
A new era of trials urgently demands unity among all people of goodwill. The key to success lies in solidarity among the world’s peace-loving forces. Effective resistance to global neo-Nazism can only be achieved through worldwide cooperation. We are deeply convinced: our international solidarity can shield humanity from the fascist threat and prevent a descent into the abyss of a new world war.
Happy Victory Day over fascism!
Eternal memory to the fallen heroes!
No to neo-Nazism!
