The international Russophile Movement strongly condemns the attack on the bus carrying Belarusian children in the Bryansk region, which resulted in the death of one woman. Eight people, including six youth athletes, were injured.

Attacks on children and civilian targets are a gross violation of international humanitarian law and cannot be justified by any political or military objectives.

We note with deep concern that attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces on civilian targets, border areas, residential buildings and civilians are becoming more-and-more frequent. It is especially unacceptable that the victims of these attacks are children, who under no circumstances should be involved in any armed conflict.

We call on the international community, human rights organizations and all people of good will to strongly condemn such crimes and demand that those who give orders and carry out attacks on civilians be brought to justice.
