Cypriot Compatriots Celebrated Russian Constitution Day!

    Published on

Russian Constitution Day was warmly celebrated on the island nation of Cyprus. This public demonstration was held on December 12th which marks the day when Russians take pride in their ever-evolving foundational document. The event was held publicly by the Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots (CCRC) of Cyprus and the Cyprus branch of the International Russophile Movement.

“The event gathered many participants who came to express their support and love for Russia. Patriotic music was played, a large banner was unfurled with information on the history and main provisions of the Russian Constitution. People came with flags of: Russia and its Crimean and Belgorodskaya regions, Cyprus, the International Russophile Movement and the “tricolor-with-daisy”, which symbolizes family values.” – said the CCRC.

The event began with the singing of the national anthem of Russia, with its melody famous the world over. Many patriotic poems were also receipted that day, and there were many powerful speeches given.

“History shows that Russia’s sovereignty and statehood were restored thanks to the Constitution adopted in 1993 and finalized in 2020. These changes allowed us not only to affirm social guarantees and the priority of Russian legislation, but also to return traditional values to our legal foundation.” said Dmitry Apraksin, Chairman of the Cyprus CCRC, speaking at the event.

Mr. Apraksin is referring to some questionable globalist-leaning points in the Russian Constitution that in theory made international law and western interpretations of rights and values superior. The wildly successful constitutional referendum of 2020 booted the hands of globalism out of Russian law by the will of the people. Thus making these questionable articles in the constitution a thing of the past. The head of the Cyprus branch of the International Russophile Movement concurred with Mr. Apraksin and in his speech emphasized the importance of the amendments made to the Constitution in 2020, which strengthened the country’s sovereignty and protected traditional values.

“The participants unanimously declared their readiness to resist external political pressures and to show that Russia remains a true, historical and honest friend of Cyprus. The event demonstrated the unity and strength of a community willing to promote patriotic values and strengthen cultural ties between peoples.” a representative of the CCRC at the event told Russian news agency “RIA Novosti”.

The celebration continued on December 12th at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Nicosia, Cyprus. On that day, the center opened an exhibition of prized images from Russian photographers. The event was dubbed “Russia through the Lens”, and was organized by the Cypriot branch of the International Russophile Movement. They also hosted the annual All-Cyprus National Conference of Russian Compatriots, as well as a festive concert of amateur creative groups.

At the All-Cyprus National Conference of Russian Compatriots, Russian Ambassador Murat Zyazikov, Chairman of the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots (CCRC) of Cyprus Dmitry Apraksin and a representative of the International Movement of Russophiles in Cyprus addressed the conference participants.

The main topics of discussion were the results of the VIII World Congress of Compatriots, the World Youth Festival in Sirius, and preparations for the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

A member of the Youth Club of Russian Compatriots of the Republic of Cyprus Vladimiros Gorin, who is the coordinator of the Victory Volunteers on the island, reported to the crowd about the opening of the International Training Center for Victory Volunteers in Cyprus.

We would like to thank all those who put their time and effort into making this event a success and it is indeed true that Russia and Cyprus have no real reason for conflict whatsoever. It is critical that we maintain good relations between these nations and not let EU bureaucrats bring their hatefulness to this idyllic island.
