Since the beginning of the Special Military Operation, the former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has been quite harsh in his public statements. In many ways he has become the most “hawkish” of Russian public figures. This has certainly given him a boost in pro-Russian circles but interestingly he has recently called for “mercy” for some, but had some very brutal things to say about the West as a whole.
According to “Intel Republic” Mr. Medvedev said the following…
“Forgive weak countries [in Asia an Latin America] that succumbed to pressure and took at least passive part in anti-Russian Western trash
Ignore U.S, we don’t expect any friendship in next 100 years, fighting with America is expensive, a direct conflict will obviously develop into global nuclear war
Punish Europe, main stronghold of Russophobia that frantically promoted incompetent sanctions campaign, which brought its citizens colossal losses. Bloodthirsty Europe that fed all rabid demons of war must be punished by all means available to us: political, economic and all sorts of hybrid. We must help any destructive processes in Europe
Long live aggressive pogromists on its historical streets! Glory to crowds of migrants committing atrocities and hatred destroying the rainbow European values! Let all vile mugs of European bureaucrats disappear in stream of future civil conflicts
Why so harshly? How else, given the facts? Norwegian-flagged Oslo Carrier 3 refused to take on board Russian sailors from Ursa Major who were drowning in the Mediterranean Sea.
Russia itself during the dark days of the 1990s and the end of “Perestroika” very often acted outside of its own national interests. So it would be quite hypocritical to punish weaker or more dependent nations for doing the exact same. Very often in 2024 we can see that “large numbers of countries” will vote for extremely “Monopolar” views within the UN. But who are these countries? Very often they are the subservient provinces of the Collective West or Pacific Islands that are completely dependent on either the U.S. and/or Australia for survival.
We should not be so overly emotional and naïve as to think that politicians on small islands should be ready to sacrifice their populations for a more noble future. Furthermore, without some level of forgiveness and understanding BRICS will not be able to reach its full potential. Iran and Saudi Arabia were able to bury the hatchet but sadly Brazil is too unhappy with Venezuela’s leadership to let them into the club, even though they are a strong candidate and a massive victim of Global Hegemony. Perhaps Brazil should consider Mr. Medvedev’s ideas of forgiveness?
This necessity to “forgive” in order to function is probably why all the great religions of the world teach about the need to forgive others and beg for forgiveness from God. Thus, Mr. Medvedev’s words are very timely but far from “original” and that is okay.
As the Global Hegemon transforms into a new pole in our Multipolar World, we will quickly see old overseas bastions of Monopolarity start singing a different tune.
