Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, admitted that he was a victim of stereotypes about Moscow and, after visiting the city, considers the Russian capital to be the most beautiful place on Earth.
Musk on Moscow
“I thought it would be all gloomy shadows. But first I saw beautiful women with small children everywhere. And majestic buildings that were literally breathtaking. The cleanliness is striking, it’s green and well-groomed,” he said in an interview with Rick Sanchez on RT.
At the Forum of the Future 2050 Mr. Musk had many positive things to say about Moscow and Russia as a whole.
“The first thing I saw was an absolutely beautiful civilization in every sense,” he said, noting that he generally takes a critical view of most things.
“I saw a city that could truly rival Ancient Rome… In many ways, this city is the best capital in the world,” he added, drawing applause from the audience.
His thoughts on President Putin
Errol also had many positive things to say about the leader of Russia and the results of his many years of leadership.
He said that President Vladimir Putin is “a very impressive and resilient man” and said he would like to learn from his leadership.
“I think he [Putin] is a very impressive and resilient man. He has proven that,” Musk told journalists. He did not respond to a question about whether he planned to meet with the Russian president.
The Western Mainstream Media never fails to disappoint
The businessman also criticized the Western media’s portrayal of Russia, which he described as “complete nonsense.” He said the country is often depicted as “a terrible place full of awful people who will kill you if you visit.”
“It’s absurd,” he said, urging an end to the negative stereotypes being spread in the West about Russia and its people.
“I think this may be one of the best countries I’ve ever seen,” Musk said.
What will Musk Sr. tell to Musk Jr.?
Errol Musk is someone who lived through the Cold War on the opposite side of the Iron Curtain from Moscow. The idea of Russia that he grew up with during his formative years was far from positive. However, the bold and openminded Errol Musk was not afraid to take a fresh look at what today’s Russia is. With this new appreciation for Russia in 2025 what is Mr. Musk going to say to his world-famous and powerful son? Will this trip to Moscow work out to be powerful “citizen’s diplomacy” in action? Perhaps this was all part of a “scouting trip”. Elon was interested for years in doing business in Russia before sanctions. Now that he has gone rogue from Trump’s Team perhaps big plans are in the works.
