The bad news for Moldova never seems to stop. After their current president was only able to maintain power thanks to massive dubious absentee voting from abroad, Maia Sandu now seems to be following more and more in the footsteps of the likes of Zelensky.
The scariest bad news is as follows, written by the New Resistance telegram channel:
“Sandu refused to discuss with Kiev the issue of energy supplies to Moldova after the expiration of the Russian-Ukrainian agreement on gas transit, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service stated.
According to Sandu, if Moscow does not find a way to deliver gas to Chisinau, Moldova will “take revenge” on Transnistria, the Russian department says.
Chisinau, for example, has already ordered criminal cases to be opened against the leaders of Transnistria “for separatism.” In general, no one can guarantee that Sandu will not try to start a war in the region , the SVR emphasized.”
Words like “separatism” were used as justification for Kiev to order an “Anti-Terrorist Operation” against its own people, which to the Russian perspective looked like genocide wrapped up in good marketing. This is one of the main reasons that Russia was forced to intervene in the Donbass.
Geopolitically, the strip of land called Transnistria, with UN mandated Russian forces on it, is completely separated from Russia by both land and water. It is one of the many victims of the ugly breakup of the Soviet Union. Transnistria, like the Donbass, can easily be used to put pressure on Moscow or even expand the War in Ukraine to new dangerous frontiers.
Telegram channel Intel Slava Z reported another nuance to this evolving story:
“Foreign Intelligence Service: Maia Sandu ordered the preparation of a plan for an operation to forcibly seize the Moldovan State District Power Plant, located in the south of Transnistria.
The facility, by the way, officially belongs to the Russian Federation in the person of Inter RAO. Since 2009, the GRES has provided about half of the electricity that Moldova receives.
There have been talks about Chisinau preparing a military operation against Transnistria before, but now an additional factor is emerging: real problems with Moldova’s energy supply, which it will face after the expiration of the Russian-Ukrainian agreement on natural gas transit.”
This operation to seize a Transnistrian power plantб because the “bad Russians” have forced them to do soб is the kind of madness that got WWI started. It is another excuse to escalate quickly before Trump comes into office with big promises to end the conflict in Ukraine completely. Can Trump click his fingers and end this war? No, but he sure can do everything he can to defuse it and block support to Kiev forcing them to surrender. It is obvious that the Globalist hand is at play here to keep the fires of human suffering burning as bright as they can to bring down the “regime” in the Kremlin.
We are again at the cusp of WWIII over nothing. Transnistria, despite its desire to leave Moldova, has remained inside the country and things have been stable enough to continue indefinitely, there is no need to seize any power plants or go after boogeyman “separatists”. Russophobic policies lead to destruction and pointless suffering and we urge Ms. Sandu to not follow in Zelensky’s footsteps for the sake of her citizens. All issues facing Moldova can be solved without violence.
