The Russian Center for Science and Culture in the Republic of Cyprus hosted a festive evening “Families of Russia and Cyprus: love, loyalty and traditions through generations”, dedicated to the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity.

This evening was a real celebration of warmth, sincerity and love, bringing together Russian-Cypriot families, representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Orthodox Church, compatriots and friends of Russia.

The guests were greeted by a festive photo zone, a welcome drink, and a thematic interactive platform “Family for me is …”, where everyone could leave their most sincere wishes and reflections on family values. The festive atmosphere was complemented by musical accompaniment and a video dedicated to Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom— the patrons of family, love and fidelity.

Murat Magometovich Zyazikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Cyprus, Father Pavel, rector of St. Nicholas Church, as well as Archimandrite Maximos, representative of the Kykkan Metropolitanate, addressed the participants of the event with welcoming words. In their speeches, they emphasized the special role of the family in preserving spiritual and moral values, educating the younger generation and strengthening friendship between Russia and Cyprus. The Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots, representatives of the Cyprus-Russia Friendship Society, representatives and members of the Faithful Friends of Russia in Cyprus Movement also actively participated in the meeting at the RCSC.

The central event of the evening was the solemn ceremony of awarding Russian-Cypriot families, who for many years have been an example of love, mutual respect, loyalty and the preservation of family traditions. The families were awarded medals from the Organizing Committee for the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity of the Russian Federation.

The celebration continued with a concert program that combined musical and dance performances performed by talented artists and family creative teams.

A particularly touching moment of the evening was the finale, when all the awarded families went up on stage and, to the sounds of the Perfect composition, whirled in a common family dance. At that moment, the hall seemed to freeze: many guests did not hide their tears, because it is such moments that remind us that love, care and mutual support remain the main values that can unite people regardless of age, language and nationality.

The evening ended with a memorable photo session and a festive buffet, where the guests were able to continue their conversation in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Family is a place where trust, respect, responsibility and love are born. It is the family that is the foundation of society and the state, the guardian of cultural and spiritual traditions, and the link between generations.
