The Sorlin family, who moved from France with many children, will receive a state award from Russian President Vladimir Putin on International Children’s Day.

On June 1, the Head of State presents state awards to parents with many children on the occasion of International Children’s Day. Among the awardees is the Sorlin family, who moved from France in 2015 and now lives in Moscow.

Isabelle Beatrice Margaret Laroche-Sorlin, who brings up 10 children, is awarded the Order of the Mother Heroine.

In an interview with TASS, the head of the family, Fabrice Sorlin, previously said that the family decided to move after seeing Russia as a stronghold of traditional values and a safe space for raising children. For his pro-Russian position and speaking out against LGBT ideology (the movement is banned in the Russian Federation), Sorlin was subjected to harassment and threats in his homeland.

In 2024, all family members received Russian citizenship by decree of Putin.
