RIA Novosti: the series “Game of Thrones” is banned in Ukraine due to Kolokolnikov’s involvement

Ukrainian streaming platforms are massively deleting films and TV series featuring Russian actor Yuri Kolokolnikov. This is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the Public television channel.

The telegram channel “Politics of the Country” notes that among the deleted projects were the fourth season of “Game of Thrones”, where Kolokolnikov played the role of the Wildling Steer, the third season of “White Lotus”, as well as the films “Argument” by Christopher Nolan and “Craven Hunter” from Marvel studios.

The decision is based on the decree of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine dated August 21, 2025, according to which Kolokolnikov is included in the list of cultural figures whose activities are restricted in accordance with the law “On Cinematography”.

The Security Service of Ukraine stated at the time that the actor had not expressed condemnation of the “Russian invasion of Ukraine”, continuing his work in the Russian Federation. Because of this, his activities were classified as a threat to the national security of Ukraine.

The list of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine was created in 2015. Since then, it has included more than 200 cultural figures who publicly support Russia’s policy towards Ukraine. Among those included in the register are Nadezhda Babkina, Sergey Bezrukov, Fedor Bondarchuk, Mikhail Boyarsky, Gerard Depardieu, Sergey Druzhko, Alexander Dugin, Anna Semenovich.

Earlier, the head of the FBK, Borodin, called for Artemy Troitsky (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent) to be recognized as a terrorist in Russia.
