About the Competition
The Intervision Song Contest, scheduled for September 20th, 2025, in Moscow, is a planned revival of a historical music competition. The original Intervision was extremely popular among Eastern Bloc countries during the Cold War. It was sort of a socialist counterpart to the Eurovision Song Contest in the West. This modern iteration, championed by Russian, who was wrongly banned from further participation in Europe’s ‘musical olympics’, proves to be a massive spectacle on a scale grander than anything seen before.
This new and far more family-friendly international song competition is aiming to attract fans from BRICS and SCO member states, as well as other nations outside the Western cultural and political sphere. But it must be stated that an American singer is in the competition, meaning that this is truly about friendly international entertainment and not political posturing. The goal of the event is to promote cultural diversity and Multipolarity, and to create a new competitive cultural platform without the obvious biases of Western-based organizations such as the IOC and FIFA.
The contest’s format is expected to mirror familiar song contest structures featuring live performances, then a voting sequence, and after all the votes are counted a winner will be declared as the song champion of the world for 2025!
