Multicolored medical uniforms can make hospital stays more comfortable, since identical white coats do not have a very positive effect on doctors and patients, Gennady Onishchenko, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy president of the Russian Academy of Education, told RIA Novosti.
“Plain white doesn’t have a very positive effect when you’re wearing it all the time. For the doctor himself, you know, walking around in white all the time and seeing only one color for the patient is also not entirely correct,” Onishchenko said.
He stressed that the quality of materials is of paramount importance when choosing a new uniform. According to Onishchenko, medical clothing should be made from natural fabrics such as cotton.
According to the document of the Ministry of Health, medical personnel are recommended to wear six colors of uniforms, depending on their position.
Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, in turn, called for the withdrawal of the recommendations of the Ministry of Health on the color of clothing for doctors and medical staff.
