In connection with the declaration of April 19 as the “Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People during the Great Patriotic War”, the International Russophile Movement expresses its sorrow over the deaths of more than 20 million innocent people who became victims of systematic violence, terror and extermination during the Second World War.

This date is a powerful reminder of the scale of the suffering of the civilian population and the need to preserve historical memory.

The crimes committed against the peoples of the Soviet Union, including mass shootings, the destruction of entire settlements, famine, usage of concentration camps and forced labor, have left an indelible mark on the history of mankind. The memory of these victims of Nazism is not only an act of respect, but also the moral duty of all of us to resist any attempts to revise history and belittle the scale of these crimes.

The International Russophile Movement calls for strengthening the culture of remembrance, dialogue and truth as the basis for building a more just and peaceful world. In the face of numerous challenges and divisions, the preservation of historical truth remains a key condition for mutual understanding and respect between peoples.
