The real history of American Football in Russia is worth preserving as now the very first generation of athletes have all gotten their first Social Security payments. So in honour to those who played the game before the Super League was formed an online Hall-of-Fame Museum has been created.

“American Football in our country has a rich history, about which not everyone knows. Many events are interpreted in different ways, but now there is an opportunity to gather all the information together!” – said Andrey Poletayev a former veteran Offensive Lineman and one of the key players in the creation of the museum.

“Just recently, our team united enthusiasts ready to rebuild a unified picture of our sport’s past with verified facts, stories and collected artifacts.” Poletayev added.

The Museum’s logo was designed by Tim Kirby, a renowned journalist and multiple-time Russian American Football Champion.

At the recent Federation of American Football in Russia (FAFR) Conference Mr. Poletaev presented for the first time the project of the Museum of American Football History. He described what it will look like and more importantly which great athletes will be inducted first.

The museum will have a unique collection of materials: Articles, photos, match recordings and many other interesting things that can be found. Later “hall-of-famers” will be inducted with detailed descriptions of their achievements in American Football even during the Soviet period. We’ll keep you updated on this story as the museum should launch soon.

One of the first big tasks of the museum will be to collect the lost images, videos, and statistics of the 1992 season during tough times in Russia on a planet not quite adapted to the internet yet.
