After many hard-fought weeks of American Football across Russia, the EESL playoff picture has become clear!

The big five fantastic fortnights of American Football in Russia have come to a close. Here are the big semi-final matches coming soon to a gridiron near you.

Spartans vs. Sharks
The returning champion Moscow Spartans are set to take on Russia’s fastest growing franchise the Moscow Capital Sharks. The Sharks came on the scene just a few years ago deep in the minor leagues, but their meteoric rise could get shut down by the elite discipline of the Spartans. Sharks’ Head Coach David Tsaava has come creative play calling and should present some surprises for the predictable Spartans, then again when you have deal with the best offensive and defensive lines in the league creativity might not be enough.

AFC Spartak vs. Northern Legion
Under the first season of veteran American Head Coach David Foster’s management, Moscow “Spartak” ends the year undefeated. After fizzling out many times in the Russia Bowl they are looking to finally get the gold they deserve. However, the St. Petersburg Northern Legion was able to beat them in a huge upset playoff victory last year. Can they repeat this success with their old school running game or will Spartak’s big boys on the defensive line be able to close those gaps?
