Russia’s Upcoming Fatherhood and Men’s Rights Conference

    Published on

Topics like the rights of men in feminist western society have essentially become unofficially forbidden, but as Russia removes the Globalist yoke from its neck these very types of discussions are being had more and more often. Already three fatherhood conferences have lead to the drafting and implementation of new laws. As we await the fourth conference let’s take a look what Russia’s ‘Men’s rights activists’ discussed at the previous one.

Who infringes on the rights of fathers?

The round table from the previous conference was organized by Dmitry Kuznetsov, a State Duma deputy from the Fair Russia party, and Vladimir Zuev, Executive Director of the International Council of Fathers.

Kuznetsov said in his opening remarks that the existing family legislation was an excellent document in the 1990s and the noughties. Now these laws are “hopelessly outdated,” the parliamentarian believes. He added that the existing laws do not contribute to improving the demographic situation in Russia, and besides, the rights of men are infringed.

“A voter came to me and complained: his ex-wife, after the divorce, propagandizes his son, they say, “dad is bad.” At the same time, Dad is obliged to pay alimony. And his wife does not allow him to see the child, she prevents him from having contanct in all ways. This is some kind of legalized kidnapping, and is unfair, the voter complained. Of course, it’s not fair,” Kuznetsov said.

Actor Alexander Levin (known to viewers from the films and TV series “Bull”, “Survivors” and others) admitted that he is now in a similar situation. I have a six-year-old son from my ex-wife, and the boy was left to live with his mother by a court decision.

“The courts do not assess who the child will be better off with, they decide whether to stay with his mother. And in our case, mom already has a new family, her son is actually being forced into a “second dad”: “There’s Papa Nikita,” well, and “Papa Sasha” is out there too. Besides, I’m trying to take maximum part in my son’s life,” the actor said.

What other “family initiatives” were voiced in the State Duma

Ivan Bakurov, a family blogger and father of many children, proposed abolishing the concept of divorce as such. “We should not live with the feeling that [if] it will be uncomfortable.” [in marriage], you can always get divorced. On the contrary, from childhood it is important to instill in the child that no, this is not allowed. You can’t get divorced and leave everything,” Bakurov said.

In addition, the activist called for encouraging men “to be faithful to their wives.” “Look, there’s maternity capital, right? Why is there no paternal capital?… There must be! A year has passed — the man has not divorced and has not left for another woman: get your million. Well, let it be three years [after that period to pay],” said Ivan.

But if you leave your family, you don’t get any “father’s capital”, the blogger clarified. “I propose to introduce such a policy: one father— one family. Not to run. And be sure to encourage those who have been married for a long time. Show my grandparents who have been together for 50 years on TV and give them an apartment,” the activist said.

Kuznetsov proposed a legislative ban on firing men whose wives are on maternity leave. Also, in his opinion, it is necessary to provide men with two weeks of parental leave after their child is born. So that the father “could learn how to change diapers and support his wife during the period of postpartum depression.”

In addition, men should be encouraged to participate in the lives of their children, the parliamentarian added. According to him, Russian children “come with their grandmothers” to various events for schoolchildren in Moscow. And migrants are the whole family.

    Counter propaganda starts young

Psychologist Svetlana Subbotina suggested creating a series of children’s toys that would inspire “reproductive attitudes.”

“A toy should evoke maternal feelings in a girl. And the toy itself should carry the image of a child. Then the girl, playing with this toy, will try on the role of a mother,” the expert said.

In her opinion, a “family set” is best suited for these purposes — a penguin-mom, a penguin-dad and baby penguins, at least three children, the expert concluded.

Why did the clergyman call Russians a “nation of neurotics”?

Priest Vyacheslav Klyuyev reported that, according to statistics, about 40% of children grow up in conditions of “paternal deprivation” — the destruction of attachment towards one of the parents, usually the father.

“Children, if they have grown up without a father or with insufficient involvement of their father in their lives, carry destructive attitudes into adulthood — a view of marriage, childbearing. Previously, it was considered: 3-5 years (after the parental divorce passes), and the child adapts. Modern research shows that no, the consequences are still felt after 20-30 years. Even in old age, strokes are more common among those who grew up with conflict-ridden divorced parents. The immune system suffers throughout life. The nation is becoming neurotic,” the clergyman concluded.
