On July 20th, 2026 an open chess tournament for students and schoolchildren was held in Trivandrum, India, in honor of the International Chess Day. The event is organized with the support of the International Russophile Movement. More than 100 players attended this tournament, where everyone could test their chess skills.

A good time was had by all with many great victories and narrow defeats. Chess is a big part of Russian culture and we thank all of the Russophiles of India for creating and attending this event.
