The Russian film “Buratino” (Pinocchio in the West), directed by Igor Voloshin, was successfully screened. The film is inspired by Alexei Tolstoy’s fairy tale “The Golden Key, or The Adventures of Pinocchio.”

The event was held in the Innopraktika Media Library, a modern cultural and educational space built and equipped by Innopraktika, and then donated to the Sheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar. The project is being implemented under the coordination of Alexey Lebedev.

The screening was organized jointly by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Senegal, the Russian House and the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar. His main goal was to introduce the Senegalese public to Russian cinema and culture. 🤝

Among the guests of the event was Dr. Suleiman Anta Ndiaye, Chairman of the Executive Bureau of the International Russophile Movement (IRM), a writer, former diplomat and Senegalese public figure actively involved in the development of intercultural dialogue. Representatives of the youth wing of the movement and members of the National Preparatory Committee of Senegal for the 2026 World Youth Festival in Yekaterinburg were also present.

Senegalese students, families with children, Russian compatriots and Embassy staff also attended the screening. 🇷🇺 🇸
🇳 The event attracted interest from the media. In particular, representatives of the Senegalese Radio and Television (RTS), the daily newspaper Le Soleil, as well as Tierno Ahmadou Si, head of the RT office in Dakar, attended the screening.

The show was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere and received a very positive response from the audience. An important part of the event was the communication that accompanied the evening: the participants were able to meet new people, share their impressions and establish new contacts.

Such cultural meetings contribute to strengthening mutual interest, developing cultural and human ties, as well as further strengthening Russian-Senegalese relations.
