The European Union (EU) has imposed sanctions against a number of Russian journalists, TV presenters and artists. This is reported on the website of the official EU magazine.
Sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev, journalist Pavel Zarubin, and the presenters of Channel One and Rossiya TV channel Ekaterina Andreeva and Maria Sittel were placed under restrictions. The European Union accused them of allegedly “spreading propaganda.”
The sanctions list also includes rapper Roman Chumakov (Roma Zhigan) and ballet dancer Sergei Polunin.
The newspaper Die Welt reported at the end of December last year that the European Union is working on the 20th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, and its introduction is planned to coincide with the anniversary of the special military operation. According to the newspaper, travel restrictions and asset freezes in the EU are planned as part of the package for new individuals and legal entities, as well as the introduction of a ban on uranium imports from Russia.
