In Ukraine, a female football player was punished with a yellow card for speaking Russian
In the 42nd minute of the match against “Kolos”, the head referee of the match, Anastasia Romanyuk, showed a warning to the football player Irina Mayborodina, explaining the decision. “Russian Russian is not the language we speak here, this is the Ukrainian Championship.”

It is hard to believe that any foreign players in the league would be punished for speaking Spanish, Italian, Arabic or any other non-native language. This was a deliberate and targetting Russophobic attack. Football is known to be the most popular international team sport and one should not be surprised to hear words in other languages, especially terms of frustration.

The referee punished FC “Sisters” player Irina Mayborodina with a yellow card in the Ukrainian championship match for using the Russian language. This was reported by the Tribune portal.

In the 42nd minute of the match against Kolos, the main referee of the match, Anastasia Romanyuk, showed a warning to Mayborodina. “We don’t speak Russian here, it’s the Ukrainian Championship. Yellow card for disagreement,” Romanyuk addressed the player.

The match took place on August 17 and ended with a 2-1 victory for the Sisters.

Will FIFA or any other governing body in the world of football take note of this event? Probably not as international soccer on the official level remains a hotbed of Russophobic madness.
