Russia will respond to Sweden’s unjustified expulsion of a VGTRK journalist who was preparing a story about the economic situation in the European Union. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

The pretext for the deportation of the journalist was an allegedly invalid medical insurance, which became invalid due to the ban on certain insurance companies operating on the territory of the kingdom. At the same time, the French visa that the Russian member of the press acquired, which can formally be used to enter Sweden, was issued taking into account this insurance issue.

“It would seem that the EU rules should be the same for everyone, but… the horses were running in circles. Despite the fact that the Russian correspondent had all the necessary documents in his hand, he was detained, interrogated and, as a result, deported. Will there be retaliatory measures? I hope you don’t doubt it,” Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.

In September, Zakharova said that Sweden had lost control over internal and external security. This is probably in relation to their submission to NATO while at the same time having migrant-friendly open borders. She commented on the attack on the Russian Embassy in Sweden and the kingdom’s reaction to the incident.
