Italian singer Nike Rivelli told RIA Novosti about this big move. “We are applying for Russian citizenship in order to feel truly at home <…> We have Russian roots, we cannot renounce our origin, our family and friends,” the singer added.

Nike Rivelli and her mother, actress Ornella Muti, also thought about buying a home in Moscow or St. Petersburg. According to Rivelli, they often come to Russia to visit relatives, friends and for work, so their own house would be more convenient than a hotel and would allow the whole family to come.

Earlier, Nike Rivelli said she was not going to give up trips to Russia, despite criticism of her family. Ornella Muti’s daughter was outraged by the reaction of journalists to the actress’ visits to Russia and explained that their family has relatives in the country, as well as Russian roots.
