Massive Mural dedicated to Russo-North Korean Friendship is being painted in Vladivostok

    Published on

Today, on the Day of the National Flag of the Russian Federation (22 August), a truly significant event is taking place in Vladivostok. A monumental mural is being created on the support of the Golden Bridge, above which the National Flag of Russia and the flag of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea are proudly flying.

In the center of the composition is a strong friendly handshake of two warriors, one Russian and one Korean, as an indestructible symbol of the military brotherhood and friendship of these two great states.

The painting depicts a North Korean army serviceman and a Russian marine, whose image immortalizes the memory of Mikhail Gudkov, twice Hero of Russia, former commander of the 155th Separate Guards Marine Brigade and Deputy Commander‑in‑Chief of the Navy. This large‑scale work will be the ninth object within our Far Eastern project “Victory Murals”. The monumental artist Vasily Shershon is working on creating this work of art.

This mural is not just a decoration for the city, but a powerful visual symbol of alliance, mutual respect, and the shared historical memory of our peoples.
