The Interior Ministry has already received more than eight hundred applications for temporary residence permits as part of the implementation of the presidential decree, TASS reported. The most applications come from Germany, Latvia, the United States, Italy, France, Great Britain, Estonia, Canada and Lithuania.

As “Russkiy Mir” reported, in the Baltic States, as well as in other European Union countries, the number of those wishing to move to Russia, having received a visa and temporary residence permit under the new simplified scheme, is growing. According to the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, such an opportunity has become available to those who share Russian spiritual and moral values.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the validity of a temporary residence permit is three years. A permanent residency permit can be issued to a foreigner who has lived in Russia for at least one year on the basis of a temporary residence permit.
