The RuID mobile app has been launched, designed for foreign citizens and stateless persons planning to enter or already residing in the Russian Federation.
With the help of the mobile app, you can apply for entry into Russia, obtain information about restrictions on entry into the country, and create a digital profile to receive government services related to migration.
The app can be downloaded from RuStore, Google Play, AppGallery, and the App Store.
The app is available in English, Armenian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Russian, Tajik, and Uzbek.
How to apply for visa-free entry to Russia
Register with RuID. You will need to provide your email address; a Russian phone number is not required.
No later than 72 hours before entering Russia, indicate the purpose of your trip and your details. In certain exceptional cases, you can inform about your visit 4 hours before crossing the border.
Setting this up is all quite easy:
-Take a photo of yourself.
-Take a photo of your identity document.
-Record your voice.
-Then, wait for your data to be verified.
Citizens of the Republic of Belarus, children under 6 years of age, diplomats and employees of diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign states in Russia, as well as employees of international organizations and their representative offices accredited in Russia and their family members are not required to submit an application.
What happens at the border
The data from the application is verified. A digital profile of the foreign citizen is created. An SNILS (individual insurance account number) and a standard Gosuslugi (public services) account are created, which will be useful, for example, for obtaining a Russian SIM card. The list of services available within the country will gradually expand if the individual goes down the rout of immigration.
