Russia’s New space mission: preparing to fully explore Venus. The Russian space program will aim for Venus after the Moon.

This direction for space development was chosen due to the experience gained in the USSR. However, breakthrough projects require not only resources, but also “fresh blood.” It is young scientists and engineers who are able to offer innovative approaches that will become the main driving force behind the Venus program.

“Venus will be the first planet in Russia’s plans for space exploration.” This was stated by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov in an interview with the magazine “Scout”, RIA Novosti reports.

Manturov recalled that in 1970, the USSR managed to successfully land a spacecraft on another planet in the Solar System, and it was Venus (on December 15, 1970, the Venera-7 automatic interplanetary station performed a soft landing on the surface of Venus for the first time in the world and transmitted data).

“Therefore, we will probably move in this direction first. And then we’ll see how successfully the assigned tasks will be completed,” he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that to implement such ambitious projects, Russia will need not only serious resources, but also non-standard engineering solutions. This requires talented and “daring” young people who will be able to take a fresh look at problems and offer fresh ideas.

In February, Academician Gennady Krasnikov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), announced that the Russian lunar exploration program includes the construction of a nuclear power plant.
