The obstacles that London is building on the way to restoring relations with Russia are growing, the Russian Embassy believes. This is how Russian diplomats reacted to the appearance of the Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS) in the UK, RIA Novosti reports. The embassy considers it discriminatory. At the same time, the authorities seem to be purposely explaining the mechanism of the scheme as vaguely as possible, the diplomatic mission notes. This is so that perhaps it can be used at their own discretion to find a “corpus delicti”. That is to say, they are building a legal mechanism that could give the British government the ability to destroy anyone even suspected of “colluding” with Russia.

Obviously, the destructive potential of this move is bound to manifest itself and cause damage, first of all, to Great Britain itself, the embassy believes. With fuzzy wording even online discussion against the policies of Kiev could raise red flags.

Is this the rise of the Police State?

“London has made a giant step towards becoming a police state”, the Russian diplomats noted. It has given the security services and the police a tool to infringe on basic rights and freedoms, to persecute both Britons and foreigners.

As reported by “Russian World”, British law enforcement agencies threaten to imprison residents of the country who will not report their cooperation with Russia with little understanding of just what this cooperation could be. The Interior Ministry of the kingdom promises up to five years in prison for this. But London seems very proud of its FIRS program that will soon go into action with Russia being at the top list of countries that subjects of the crown cannot interact with. Iran is also being added to the list. The scheme will start operating on July 1st, 2025.

Thanks to these new requirements, local law enforcers and intelligence agencies in the “Orwellian spirit” will have unprecedented tools to infringe on British citizens’ rights and freedoms, as well as persecute foreign citizens, the commentary from the Russian embassy said.

Can this repressive plan actually achieve its goals?

One would think that the British would certainly remember the futility of going on witch hunts. Sadly modern MPs have little regard for history. This new program will not weaken Russia’s grip over the British public, but instead lead to even higher levels of hatred towards the globalist powers-that-be in the City of London. These types of vague laws with heavy-handed punishments that are absent in Russia will only serve to make the Russians look more-and-more like the “good guys” on the global arena. This russophobic nonsense will surely backfire.
