The annual “Zavidovo” vintage car race started at the high-rise building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Dozens of vehicles will pass through the streets of Moscow as part of the diplomatic rally. And some of them, waiving our Russophile banners, will contain members and supporters of our organization.

The event includes such legendary cars as the Pobeda M-20, GAZ M-72, Volga GAZ 21 and 24, Moskvich-407 and -427, Chaika GAZ 13, Mercedes-Benz 300SE, VAZ 2101 and ZAZ-965 “Zaporozhets”. All of them are set to take part in the race. Before the start, the participants lined up outside the building of the diplomatic mission, giving passers-by the opportunity to admire and check out the rare cars.
To win the rally, the crew needs to fulfill two conditions: complete the distance with the greatest punctuality; at all points of a given route it is necessary to be strictly at a certain time, and also receive the highest rating from the jury for the uniqueness of the car and for its design.
The opening ceremony of the race was accompanied by a performance by the drumming ensemble of the College of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
Traditionally, the “Gorky Classic” Automobile Historical Society has been organizing the event with the support of the Main Directorate for Work with the Diplomatic Corps (GlavUpDK) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The plan is for the rally to end on the banks of the Volga River at the “Zavidovo” recreation complex.
