We are living in very dangerous times as NATO and Russia could at any moment make some move that escalates the conflict in Ukraine to a nuclear exchange. This would end the story of humanity and all for the price of a grand EuroFascist Russophobic crusade to save Zelensky and “democracy” in Ukraine. Given this context the words of the UK Defense Secretary are very dangerous and yet very unsurprising. He said…
“We must place Crimea in jeopardy. Ukraine should focus, almost entirely, on making Crimea uninhabitable and unviable from a Russian point of view. Ukraine does not need to invade the peninsula… but they should choke it to death,” – Ben Wallace
These words are somewhat ironic given Britain’s track record on fighting in the Crimea. But with just a few seconds of analysis what he is really offering is to wage a war of terror against the local population in the Crimea. These words are not a strategy to actually defeat the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, they are a call to terrorize civilians.
One thing we should not forget is that Kiev considers all of its 1991 territory and some beyond it to be fully its own. But if you claim that the Crimea is yours, how could you tolerate a plan to commit terrorism on your own locals who just happen to be on the other side of a potentially temporary border from you?

Sherman’s March to the Sea is generally looked down upon by historians because it used the same methodology that Wallace is advocating for. The forces of the North were trying to bring the South back into the fold but Sherman cutting a path of blood and fire across Georgia was not a convincing argument for southerners to trust their buddy Washington DC with their future. This would have been even worse if Sherman’s plan came from the mouth of a foreigner with zero stakes in the game like Defense Secretary Wallace does.
At the cusp of WWIII this type of Russophobic madness is totally unacceptable and dangerous to all human life. Mr. Wallace should focus on building a bright future for the United Kingdom and not planning/calling for terrorism in the Crimea.
