VK has filed a lawsuit against Apple over the removal of its apps from the App Store..

The lawsuit was registered on August 19 in the Moscow Arbitration Court. The company is demanding that the apps be returned to the store and that users be restored the ability to receive notifications. VK also wants to recover damages if Apple fails to comply with the court’s decision.

The defendants are listed as Apple Inc., LLC “Apple Rus,” and Apple Distribution International Limited.

The defendants in the lawsuit are the Russian legal entity LLC “Apple Rus,” as well as Apple Inc. and Apple Distribution International Ltd. The lawsuit was registered on August 19. The case is being considered in the court of first instance.

According to the court document that media source RBC has reviewed, the plaintiff is asking the court to impose a court penalty on Apple in the event of non‑compliance with the decision, for each of the applications: 50 million rubles per day for the VK social network, 3 million rubles per day for Odnoklassniki, and 5 million rubles per day for VK Music. The plaintiff is asking for the penalty to be imposed starting from the sixth day after the date the court act is issued, in full. The plaintiff also requests that the defendant be required to reimburse LLC “VK” for the costs of paying the state duty in the amount of 200,000 rubles.
