This year, Yandex will launch 5,000 courier robots to deliver orders both within its ecosystem and for external partners. The company also plans to increase the number of autonomous vehicles on the roads, according to its 2025 report.
Key points from the report:
- 5,000 delivery robots to be deployed in 2026
- 100 robotaxis to operate for Yandex Go users
- Another 100 vehicles for research and technology development
- The fleet of autonomous trucks to grow by 70 vehicles by year end
The company also described itself as one of the global leaders in autonomous technologies, stating that total autonomous driving mileage across cities and highways has exceeded 37 million kilometers.
According to the report, about 18 billion rubles in capital and operating expenditures were invested in 2025 to expand teams, increase computing capacity, and grow fleets of delivery robots, robotaxis, and autonomous trucks.
There is a hope that many autonomous robots could replace the need for foreign migrant labor, which as of present is already being severely restricted.
